Sustainable agriculture encompasses a range of approaches, including organic farming, agroforestry, permaculture, and precision farming, among others is the promotion of biodiversity and ecosystem health. This involves reducing the use of chemical inputs such as synthetic fertilizers and pesticides, and instead, adopting natural and organic alternatives. By enhancing biodiversity on farmland and preserving natural habitats.
Livelihood enhancement, on the other hand, focuses on improving the overall quality of life and economic opportunities for individuals and communities which includes training on sustainable farming practices, capacity building, access to credit and markets, and the establishment of farmer cooperatives and networks. By strengthening the capabilities and agency of farmers, livelihood enhancement initiatives contribute to poverty alleviation and promote inclusive and sustainable rural development.
